HAGGIS

// BURNS NIGHT SUPPER //

Burns was a legendary Scottish poet. And what better way to honour a legend hero than bagpipes and the offcuts of meat you don’t even want to think about stuffed into the stomach lining of a pig. Yum! I’ll spare you of all the gore of the haggis aftermath. But until my eventful late-night adventures, we certainly had good fun.

A night of ceilidh dancing with the whole school was festive – one of those few occasions a year where you let any sense of reservation go and just enjoy the now. I can’t share the photos due to child safeguarding, but there are a couple on the school’s Instagram if you want to check it out.

An inbound Storm Éowyn.

We did have a trip booked to Edinburgh last week, but unfortunately Storm Éowyn had other plans in closing the train line. Whilst we couldn’t make it, we did manage to stay two nights in Whitley Bay. It felt like -10º.

Since then, I’ve fallen very sick with the flu (some of these kids are walking snot machines). Am struggling to remain in action, but we’ll get there!

I got to spend all of Monday working in Pre-Prep, which I rarely get to do. The nursery kids (2-4 year olds) were learning about Chinese New Year, and they were all ‘cooking’ me delicious meals. They also dressed me up in a pirate costume. Thinking we may need to further investigate traditional dress!

Full steam ahead for the next three weeks, then a week in Amsterdam. A few photos from my recent explore of a local town - Corbridge. Until soon!
